Clio Area Schools Hall of Fame: Class of 2024 Inductee- Fay Latture

A lifetime Mustang, Fay Latture spent the bulk of her life in education right here in Clio, beginning her career as a student here in 1963 and ending it as the Superintendent of Schools in 2011. Fay was a 1970 graduate of Clio High School. A lifelong learner, she went on to gain a BA from the University of Michigan, an MA from Eastern Michigan, and a Doctorate from Wayne State University. She began her career as a third grade teacher at Clio Later Elementary in 1974. She soon moved to the position of Special Education consultant at Carter Middle School where she eventually became the Assistant Principal. From Carter Middle School she moved to Garner Elementary where she served as the building principal for six years. Fay transitioned in 1989 to the role of Clio Area Schools Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum where she stayed for ten years. In 1999, Fay became the district’s first female Superintendent, a position she held for twelve years before her retirement in 2011. Fay also worked as a professor for at the University of Michigan working in the Education department. Clio Area Schools is honored to have this incredible mentor, leader, and educator join the Class of 2024 in the Clio Area Schools Hall of Fame.
