Saturday the girls tennis team traveled to Lapeer for the Lapeer Lighting Invitational.  This tournament has become a yearly tradition, and is always a great test for the team early as there is very even competition with the four schools that traditionally attend.  Overall the Mustangs took second place behind an vastly improved Swartz Creek team, and edged out always feisty Lapeer and Kearsley. Overall the team went 2-1 on the day when looking at dual match results (listed below), and finished 12-12 in total wins/losses over every match that was played.  This is a fantastic result with an inexperienced team that is missing some starters from the lineup still.  

Congratulations goes out Emily Yax, who went undefeated on the day to capture the crown at 4 singles.  Emily started off the day with her hardest match of the day, staying on serve and winning in the tiebreaker 7-5.  After that Emily did not drop another game, going 20-0 over the course of the next two matches.  Great job Emily, and great job Mustangs!!
